Photoshoot with Lauren
I’d just received a free sample pack from Lee Filters (simply email them and ask for one) – there are 300 different coloured filters, and they’re perfectly-sized to fit over a flash. I tried a few lighting set-ups, either adding a bit of green/blue light as a secondary light, or using blue to light just the background, leaving the model in silhouette. Some almost NSFW photos from the shoot are in the next post…
Publicity for ADC Dance Show, "Beauty"
Having photographed the last few years’ CUCDW dance shows in Cambridge, I was asked again this year to create the publicity for the forthcoming show. The show’s producer, herself a dancer, had ideas for the dance imagery to be used in the poster. We worked together to get enough photos of herself in a graceful poise, as well as photos of a flowing scarf, which together would be combined in the final poster.
The poster/flyer design turned out to be one of the most intricate that I’ve ever done, with fine details in the main title typography, smoke effects, floral flourishes, and background textures.

Acting Headshots for Hayley II
Hayley graduated last year, and is now in Drama School in London. She came back up to Cambridge for the weekend, and asked me to take some updated headshot photos to help her sign with an agent.
This time I was reminded of Claudia Schiffer…
Dirty Dancing
On a trip to the Norfolk Coast with the Cambridge University Rock’n’Roll Team, a couple showed off one of the more popular acrobatic moves, Dirty Dancing; however, the appearance of the wave wasn’t quite expected.
Modelling portfolio for Megan
Megan, whom I’ve photographed before, had a casting with a modelling agency, so wanted some new and full-length photos for her portfolio.
Photoshoot with Erica (Studio #2)
After the success of the recent studio photoshoot with Erica, we arranged another shoot a few days later to carry on from where we’d left off. She got back into the modelling zone straight away, and her photos kept getting better and better.
Erica is fast-becoming one of my favourite muses. Funnily enough she’s at the same college as most of my other muses, Rebecca, Hayley, Megan and Emily. There must be something about Homerton that attracts models – that’ll be the drama degree!

Photoshoot with Erica (Studio)
After the athlete photos on the running track, we took some studio photos in my new home-studio. My set-up includes two flashguns with white shoot-through umbrellas, white/black background cloths, and Adobe LightRoom post-processing.
Photoshoot with Erica (Sportrait #2)
I’d already done an athlete portrait photoshoot with Erica, but we weren’t able to shoot on the athletics grounds at the time, so we arranged another shoot. She’s a champion high-jumper, but unfortunately the equipment wasn’t available, so we settled with the red-coloured track instead.
Photoshoot with Sarah (Studio)
Sarah is a fantastic ballet and contemporary dancer, and I’d already done a few modelling photoshoots with her. She wanted some acting headshots to take to casting agents. Once the photoshoot was in full flow, we did several lush shots with a fan, various glamorous clothes, and dramatic lighting.
