One of my favourite muses, Sarah, had asked me to do a photoshoot for her sister. Those are coming soon, but in the mean time, now online – here are some of my favourites of Sarah from the shoot.
This first photo is an updated headshot to add to Sarah’s portfolio, as she’s doing more theatre and film these days.
At the end of the shoot, Lucy took the camera to get a few photos of the photographer with his muse :)
The first portrait/headshot photoshoot I’ve done since December (which was one of my best ever, before my photo-mojo went walkabout).
Laura was at St. John’s, and is one of the stars of BBC’s Wannabes.
As with the Selwyn chapel candle-lit photos, huge thanks to Greg for his reflector skills in helping me get the golden lighting for these photos :)
Here are two processed photos that Laura chose as headshots:
A photographer friend has been taking HDR photos of each college’s chapel in Cambridge, and invited me along to take some photos with him. He’d set up candles in Selwyn College’s chapel. While he was working on taking photos of the eagle lectern, I took a couple of wide shots of the organ and pews.
The 1-day-old moon looked rather pretty at twilight tonight, so I got my mojo on and took some photos from Castle Mound. The very visible Earthshine would have been enough to make for an interesting photo, but the conjunction with the Pleiades (Seven Sisters) seals it.
I’ve not really taken many photos in the last few months, but a spur-of-the-moment trip to Madrid was a great way to get my photo-mojo back in gear. While there were few photogenic subjects in the city, the Botanic Gardens contained a wealth of stunning visual treats. I also put together another Colour & Form montage from the Botanic Gardens .

Retiro Park, in central Madrid. A bright sunny day. Water fountains. Perfect conditions for capturing the water patterns of a jet of water, with time-frozen droplets of another fountain filling the rest of the frame.
I was commissioned to photograph the Cambridge University Jewish Ball, where one of the entertainers, David Crofts, created the most incredible balloon art I’ve ever seen. Some of the creations shown on his website have to be seen to be believed.
