Cambridge University Annual Fashion Show

Having been commissioned to take photographs of the CU Fashion Show Launch Party for lead-sponsor Grand Arcade’s PR, I also covered the fashion show itself, held at the Corn Exchange. There were various ranges of design themes, interlude performances of hip-hop and breakdancing, and a competition for pupils to design a dress made only of orange Sainsbury’s carrier bags. The finale was the revealing of a Grand Arcade dress, made of recycled Grand Arcade publicity.

Conference – The Progressive Generation

A leadership conference for American grad students in the UK, focussing on Healthcare, the Environment, and Education. These bright individuals may be the future policy makers and thinkers for America, and having listened in on their discussions, that future looks good.
The keynote speaker, Matthew Taylor, has been a key government advisor for the last 10 years, and now heads the RSA. The eloquence, insight and knowledge shown in his address proves why the UK has chosen him to make such important strategy and policy decisions.

CU Fashion Show Launch Party

The annual Cambridge University Fashion Show held its launch party at Vodka Rev with cocktails, models, and designer dresses on auction. I was asked to take a few promotional photos for the event’s sponsor, the Grand Arcade, to use in their publicity. I also got a couple of interesting photos on the dance floor, including a lovely shot of one of my portrait models, Hayley.

Acting Headshot for Will

A fourth year linguist, Will has been acting throughout his time at Cambridge, and is hoping to pursue a career in drama. His agent recommended that he get a new headshot photo, and I was highly recommended by one of his peers (one of my muses), Rebecca.

Canvas Print – CUTAZZ Lyrical Dance

After the CUTAZZ Dance Show, I was approached by the boyfriend of the dance teacher / lead performer (Natalie Demain), to make a canvas print of one of her dances that I’d photographed, as a birthday present. I put together a few drafts of different artistic styles for the print, and a week later, the canvas was delivered in time for her birthday, and I think looks rather great.

Abi & Mark's Wedding

Two friends of mine met on an Oxbridge trip two and a half years ago, and they’re now married :) They chose Wadham College, Oxford, as the location for the ceremony and celebrations, as the bride’s grandfather is a fellow at the college. Very handy, as it made for a pretty wedding location. It also meant I was able to go to the upper balcony in Hall to get a photo of the dinner in its splendid glory. The photo of Hall is a stitch of 16 photos, mimicking a very wide-angle lens.

Acting Headshot for Zara

Zara graduated last year, and her London agent suggested she get a new headshot. Not keen to pay London prices for results she wasn’t overly pleased with last time, she’d seen some of my recently-taken acting headshots up in the ADC Theatre, and got in touch. Strong recommendations from her peers who themselves were happy customers also helped :)
