Vancouver Photoshoot with Cassandra
Ever since seeing a poster of Vancouver on a friend’s wall, I’ve always wanted to visit the city. I also have several friends who live there, one of whom I met in London earlier this year. Cassandra vlogs on YouTube every day (aka NerdzRL), and has an incredible optimism and joie de vivre, as well as a love of superheroes.
This first photo is one of my very favourites of all time, not only because it looks like a movie poster (and straight out of camera, no less), but also because it makes Cassandra look: 1) tall (she’s not), and 2) like one of the superheroes she so admires.
The first time I saw Cassandra, I wanted to do a photoshoot with her, and these results just prove why I found her photogenic in the first place.
These two headshots were taken during our lunch break at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Gas Town. The white table and our seating choices round the table made for perfect lighting!
And to finish the shoot, a clothing-catalogue style shot on the waterfront.
Model Portfolio Shoot for Emily
After the Derelict Fashion photoshoot, Emily has become interested in modelling, and was asked by an agency to put together a portfolio. As she trusted and knew me already, she asked if I could help her come up with more photos for her portfolio, in addition to the great fashion shots from the recent derelict shoot. Being short on time, clothing choices, and suitable locations, these are what we came up with.

Cambridge Inter-Faith Programme – Headshots
I was commissioned to take new headshots for the team at the Cambridge Inter-Faith Programme. The director was keen to get some photos at the front of the Divinity School, as the entrance doors are decorated with writings in various faiths’ scripts.
Portraits of Stockholm
After my travels through the forests and lakes in Sweden, I found myself in Stockholm with no cash and a few hours to kill. Having already visited Stockholm the previous year, I didn’t feel I need to do any rushed sight-seeing, and knew my way around a bit. After an hour of walking around, it struck me how strongly so many people have similar facial features – the “Scandinavian Look” that Sweden is famed for. So I set myself a challenge, to take street portraits of several young people that, combined, would exhibit the Swedish look. Here are 6 of my favourites:
One girl in particular caught my eye, not only because of her skateboard, but also her piercing blue eyes and striking red hair. In a nation full of blondes, that definitely stands out.
Fun with Friends
I enjoyed the recent sunshine at a friend’s house, with a few other friends. Needless to say, some of them were actors, so wanted to try to get a few headshots in case any were usable for Spotlight. And of course one of my favourite muses, Sarah, was there, and I’m always happy to photograph her.
Crashing a headshot photoshoot – great result though!
